| The "Cafe Marquesa" embodies the highlight of all the cafe scenes created as artist in residence in Key West. This richly painted 48" x 60" oil takes place at the peak of day in another world which may no longer exist except on one's imagination. Wisteria frames the old stone wall of this cafe while my friends (many who posed for this scene in period costume) sip wine on a warm spring afternoon. This is one of my favorite works produced in 1993 and is now in a private collection in Chicago. |
