RICHARD STANDS
...And To The Republic
By A.D.

Despite the "poor" packaging or shall we say super-generic and unpleasing art, this CD has alot of unintended similarities to one of my favorite alternative bands of the early 80's - "Guadalcanal Diary".

Not to say that Richard Stands will be one of my new favorites, but their reminiscent sounds are recaptured, or for Richard Stands sake captured for the first time. With the potential for such memorable choruses as good as "Litany" (off GD's 2x4 LP), and versus as catchy as the work from pop icons, "The Smithereens", I'd keep your ears open for more from this group.

Pop, Radio, and that touch of twistedness that makes college stations play records is easy to find on their 12 song debut disc entitled "...And To The Republic".

This CD is an excellent first effort from this Cincinnati-based band, and although its packaging is deceiving, the music is what's important, right?

Note: I'm not saying to put a red dress on your media kit, but keep in mind, first impressions are lasting, so put some work into this part of your project, too.
